 The switch is Nintendo’s newest game console. So….WHO IS EXCITED!!! I know you have to be exited. This is so cool. You have tons of games to play. For an example, you can play mini games and you can play new games like NBA2K18, isn’t that amazing? Mario,Zelda, Minecraft Story mode, Sonicand even more games!!!!!!! This is awesome.The new nintendo switch is going to blow you away. So far it is the best console ever. If I were you I would go and get one. All I’m trying to say is that this console is really cool and it’s popular. You should also try to buy it before it’s sold out.

 NINTENDO SWITCH DESIGN

Okay so before you buy, you need to learn about it’s design. So the Switch comes in red, blue and grey. It has small controllers that may be a little hard on some gamers but because it makes up with this problem by being a mobile device. The two controllers are detachable and attachable. The console itself can connect to tv’s too! The Switch’s two controllers are on both sides. They can connect to the controller base that puts them on opposite sides.  It comes with a screen that holds both controllers. To get a better understanding of what it looks like.

Hi im Nahji and i’m going to talk to you about the controls so first let’s start off with the front.It has a touch where you don’t have to look at the tv and  it is touch screen but you can’t just play any game with the touch screen.Then on the left side is  the volume button where you make the game louder so you could here and minus button to not really here the game.On the bottom of the Nintendo Switch their is a speaker to help you hear better about what’s going on in the game that you are previously playing.How the joycon works is by itself  with this there is no screen and you can play with your friends.

PARENTAL CONTROLS

Hi this is Jeremiah, let’s talk about the Nintendo Switch parental control the parental controls  is something that parents put on the nintendo switch that will protect violence or anything that isn’t good on the nintendo switch and also parental controls are also something that tells you about the instructions of the parental controls.There is also a new app for nintendo switch parental controls on the phone to monitor the time of the nintendo switch that  your child is playing the game.You can also see what games your children have been recently been playing  on the nintendo switch app.

Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild

So this might be short. Mostly because their isn’t a lot of info on Zelda.But i’ll tell you what i can. So in this game you play as Link the story’s main character. So i can’t say everything because uhhhh spoilers! So the main point of the game is to save Hyrule. Hyrule is a kingdom and the Princess is Zelda. So i myself don’t know all the bosses or enemies but i do know it’s gonna be amazing! Here are some pros and cons. So this game may have a lower frame rate during intense moments. There is no  multiplayer. You can climb walls and cliffs. You can also scan amiibo’s. This game is supposed to be one of the biggest games of the last ten years !

Hi my name is Avion and I’m here to tell you guys the cons of the Nintendo Switch.Before I get into this I just want to say I am not saying to not buy the Nintendo Switch because it’s still a really good console.I’m just listing things that can make it better.

• In certain modes the  joy cons are too small

• It cost $69 for extra joy cons

• When it came out, there was not a lot of games introduced

• It charges to slow

In conclusion the Nintendo Switch is a very console to buy and the games that are coming out look very cool.If you buy it you will have a BLAST!!!!!

The Bermuda Triangle

The Bermuda Triangle is a very special place that cannot be understood. From electromagnetic clouds to vortexes that send you to other dimensions, but in reality no one knows what really goes on there. Many flights, and people on voyages have miraculously disappeared in the midst of the triangle. According to many sources, Christopher Columbus sailed the seas and he journalized sightings of UFO’s and many more strange happenings that still can’t be explained. In his journal he reported that he saw a flaming sphere fall from the sky into the ocean. After, he explains that he saw a glowing disc emerge from the sea that ascended into the sky. According to him he believed it to be a flying saucer, although there isn’t much evidence to back it up. Along with that he says that his compass also went crazy in this ominous location.

In the Bermuda Triangle scientists assume that the ominous activities like the loss of magnetic direction, and electromagnetic happenings is caused by the hexagonal clouds in that region. Scientists say that the clouds cause the electromagnetic disruption, air bombs, and blistering winds. These “air bombs” bush the plane down with strong winds into the ocean. The electromagnetic disruption is caused by electrically charged clouds that interfere with the compass.
Many people have different speculations about the triangle and its mysteries. Theories include many unworldly things.

Some people believe that there is a wormhole in the middle of the triangle that brings you to another world. Others say that the lost city of Atlantis is in the middle of the triangle. Home to mermaids, which is why anyone that goes there cannot leave due to the knowledge they’ve obtained. So, the question is, “What’s really behind the Bermuda Triangle?” The world may never know.

Black Future Role Models: A Tribe Called Quest

A Tribe Called Quest is an American hip-hop group formed in 1985 and originally composed of MC and producer Q-Tip, the late MC Phife Dawg and DJ and producer Ali Shaheed Muhammad. A fourth member, MC Jarobi White, left the group in 1991 after the release of their debut album. He continued to contribute to the band sporadically before rejoining for their 2006 reunion. Along with De La Soul, the group was a central part of the Native Tongues and enjoyed the most commercial success out of all the groups to emerge from that collective. Many of their songs, such as “Bonita Applebum“, “Can I Kick It?“, “I Left My Wallet in El Segundo“, “Scenario“, “Check the Rhime“, “Jazz (We’ve Got)“, “Award Tour” and “Electric Relaxation” are considered classics.

We are choosing to choose them as our black history month project because of who they are and how they impacted hip hop in the black association. They have received many awards and accomplishments and that encourages us and all the other black kids in the world. They are legends that will never be forgotten and that is we chose them for our black history month project for this month. We want to be able to follow in their footsteps and change the world in a similar way.

Young black people can learn that it is not all about violence and drugs. Young people can learn important things about our history. Tribe Called Quest is very educational if you listen to their lyrics and read into their subject matter. We can learn from their example that art can expand our futures.

Black Future Month Role Model: Neil deGrasse Tyson

Neil deGrasse Tyson was born in Manhattan, New York and raised in the Bronx. His mother is from Puerto Rico and his father was American. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Physics from Harvard University and a doctorate in astrophysics from Columbia University in 1991.

Neil deGrasse Tyson was born October 5, 1958, in Manhattan and was raised in the Bronx. Tyson attended the Bronx High School of Science where he was captain of the wrestling team and editor-in-chief of the school’s Physical Science Journal. He obsessively studied astronomy in his teens, and eventually even gained some fame in the astronomy community by giving lectures on the subject at the age of 15.

Tyson attended Harvard University where he majored in physics. He was a member of the crew team during his freshman year, but returned to wrestling, eventually lettering in his senior year. In addition to wrestling and rowing in college, he was active in dance in styles including jazz, ballet, Afro-Caribbean, and Latin Ballroom. Tyson earned a Bachelor of Arts in physics from Harvard in 1980 and began his graduate work at the University of Texas at Austin and received a Master of Arts in astronomy in 1983.

In 1988, Tyson was accepted into the astronomy graduate program at Columbia University where he earned a Master of Philosophy in astrophysics in 1989, and a Doctor of Philosophy in astrophysics in 1991. He has held numerous positions at institutions including the University of Maryland, Princeton University, and the American Museum of Natural History.

Tyson has written a number of popular books on astronomy. In 1995, he began to write the “Universe” column for Natural History magazine. In 2004, he hosted the four-part Origins miniseries of PBS’s Nova. He is currently the Frederick P. Rose Director of the Hayden Planetarium at the Rose Center for Earth and Space and a research associate in the department of astrophysics at the American Museum of Natural History.

The MacArthur Foundation, which granted Coates a Genius Grant in 2015, wrote that Coates’ work “subtly embeds the present—in the form of anecdotes about himself or others—into the historical analysis in order to illustrate how the implications of the past are still experienced by people today.”

Coates’ two books of nonfiction, The Beautiful Struggle (2008) and Between the World and Me (2015), have been especially praised for their ability to blend intensive research with deeply personal reflection. Professionally, Coates works as a journalist and is a regular correspondent for The Atlantic. He has also contributed to The New York Times Magazine, The Village Voice, The Washington Post, The New Yorker, and Time Magazine.

Coates grew up in Baltimore. His father, William Paul Coates, was both a Vietnam War veteran and a Black Panther. Coates’ comic book series, Black Panther, was Marvel’s #1 bestseller in April 2016.

In addition to his Genius Grant and McArthur Fellowship, Coates has received numerous awards, including being honored as the Martin Luther King Jr. Visiting Scholar at Massachusets Institute of Technology in 2012 and receiving the National Book Award for Nonfiction in 2015.

Ta-Nehisi Coates is a good role model because black people don’t really get good jobs and he’s telling kids to aim high like him. He makes books about our history to inform us about our history. He talked about president Obama as our first black president and many other topics that are important to black people.

Marching Into Black History With The Characters Of Hidden Figures

Authors: Nahji Gooding, Isaiah Bynoe, Avion Archibald, Christopher Powell.

Back in time, we were known as colored people today me Nahji, Isaiah Avion and Christopher are going to tell you about the people on hidden figures. First, we are going to tell you about the actors. As you may know as Katherine G. Johnson, played by Taraji P. Henson is the main character in this movie. Katherine was a mathematician and helped in landing. she was the only colored person in there but she was smart. NASA had color signs for Katherine to use the bathroom and she always got to work 40 minutes late until her boss asked why she always got to work late then she said: “there is no bathroom over here for me”. After she said that to her boss he took the color sign off for the coffee pot. After the coffee pot, he took off the colored sign for the bathroom in the west wing. That’s all about  Katherine G. Johnson.

One of her friends Mary Jackson played by Janelle Monae was an engineer who worked for NASA. She had to go to an all-white high school so she can get a better education in engineering.  She was trying so hard she even went to a judge to go to that school so she can get an education.and her husband gave her a mechanical pencil what we call now and he invented it.that was all about Mary Jackson.

Her other friend Dorothy Vaughan played by the actress Octavia Spencer was also hired for NASA’s advisory committee for aeronautics she was an amazing engineer and had the ability to program by herself the first ever IBM. An IBM is an international business machine. After she had programmed the first IBM the NASA headquarters thought that all the computers (humans who solved equations for NASA) were now useless and were going to fire them all. At the end of the movie, Dorothy got a promotion and had the opportunity to teach a team of 30 people about engineering.

These are the main characters of hidden figures and it’s been Avion, Nahji, Chris and Isaiah and we’re out. But here are some pictures of these incredible people and actors.

Reviewing The Plot Of Hidden Figures

During the heat of the Space Race, the Soviet Union, later to be Russia, and the U.S were trying to get a man in space first. The U.S. fell behind when the Soviets sent Yuri Gagarin into space in 1961. There was a woman named Katherine Goble who was a math genius, Dorothy Vaughan who was a programmer and mathematician, and Mary Jackson who was an engineer. 

This is a time of intense segregation. They worked with another woman in a separate building as the white people called the West Building.Katherine always had to go to the other building to use the bathroom. It often took at least 40 minutes to go. They were also known as “Computers” and they did the math for NASA. Al Harrison, the leader of the Space Task Group, wants to get astronauts into space as quickly as possible. These three women quickly rose through the ranks and helped get men in space. Katherine Goble calculated the coordinates of where John Glenn would land.  Mary Jackson would go to court and win a case so she could attend classes at the University of Virginia, an all white school so she could be eligible to be the first black engineer for NASA. Dorothy Vaughan would program the IBM. At the end of the movie, he got a promotion to be a supervisor at NASA.

Overall, it was a great job of showing the contributions of the hidden figures in space exploration and African American history.
